* This work appeared as a series of 10 fascicles between 1851 and 1853, each with an engraved city-view: Damascus, Cyprus, Konieh, Troas, Athens, Corinth, Milete, Jerusalem, Ephese, Rome. In 1853 they were published together, with a titlepage with a view of Tarsus but without a continuous pagination. Later editions are all in a smaller size without the plates.
