* A good copy of the first volume of Picart’s famous work, containing essays on the customs and rituals of the Jewish people and of the Catholic Church. Containing numerous engravings on the rituals of the Jews including the famous engraving of the Dedication of the Synagogue of the Portuguese (Sephardic) Jews in Amsterdam. The large double-faced and folding engraved plate shows the procession of the pope taking office in St. John Lateran Archbasilica in Rome. All plates in good condition. Occasional browning.
