* Karl Heinz Spalt, 1913-2002), pacifist and member of the Deutschen Friendensgesellschaft. This book was published in January 1933 but almost immediately (May 3, 1933) the total stock of the publisher was seized by the new Nazi Government. However, the publisher managed to save about 200 copies of the book. Spalt had already fled Germany in January and arrived in England in 1934 where he finished his studies. He was appointed professor in German philology at the University of Wales, publishing and lecturing as Keith Spalding.
